And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; [1] depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ [2]

  1. Jesus is talking about people who actually don’t know him. He is not talking about growing cold or people he grew tired of. This simply means non-believers who stand on their own righteousness, on what they have done and not what Christ.
