2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new [1] creature [2][3]: old things are passed away [4][5]; behold, all things are become new. [6][7][8][9][10]
- ↑ The original word in the Greek text for new is kainos (καινός) means new in kind, unprecedented, novel, uncommon, unheard of... You are not a new and improved version of who you used to be; you are something brand new altogether (Galatians 6:15).
- ↑ The moment you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you received a new life – His life. Your broken and sad life has been traded for His good life. Your are part of the bloodline of champions. Every generational curse has been broken and you have now revceived His evey spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3) for your life.
- ↑ You are not a sinner becoming a saint. You are a Christian, or a little Christ. You are 100 percent holy and righteous (1 Corinthains 1:30). You one with the Lord, you have the mind of Christ, the heart of Christ, and the desires of Christ. You may have retained some of the habits and memories of your old life, but you are a brand new person. So instead of becoming, you need to be.
- ↑ The person you used to be, died with Christ (Romans 6:6, Colossians 3:3) and your former natural (1st Adam) bloodline has been traded for that of the last Adam, Jesus Christ.
- ↑ This would include our old identity, our life of sin, the power of satan, the religious works of trying to please God, our old relationship with the world, and our old mindsets. We are not reformed or simply refurbished, we are made completely new by our union with Christ and the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
- ↑ You have been born again of incoruptable (aphthartos) seed (1 Peter 1:23).
- ↑ King James Version (KJV)
- ↑ Greek Interlinear: Therefore if any man in Christ, is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
- ↑ Greek Text (TR) - 5:17 ὥστε εἴ τις ἐν Χριστῷ καινὴ κτίσις· τὰ ἀρχαῖα παρῆλθεν ἰδού, γέγονεν καινά· τὰ πάντα
- ↑ When you came to and received Christ, you literally became a brand-new creature. You were cleansed and redeemed from sin, re-gened (given a new bloodline), and joined in vital union with the Lord. You are no longer part of Adam’s race (bloodline). You are a son or daughter of the Everlasting Father. Christ is your life. You stand on His faith and are cloaked in His love. Your present and passing imperfections are hidden within His eternal and sublime perfections. Whne God looks at you He sees Christ and not your imperfections. You are perfect the spitting image of your Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. When God looks at you, He doesn’t just see who you are now, with your visible faults and hidden glory. He sees who you are in eternity. He sees the real you, and from his timeless perspective you are faultless, blameless, and radiant with glory.
