That in the ages to come [1] he might shew the exceeding riches [2] of his grace in his kindness [3]toward us through Christ Jesus. [4]

  1. His plan is to show off or demonstrate his grace for all eternity.
  2. Earlier Paul spoke about the riches of God’s grace (Ephesians 1:7). God is very rich in grace. The surpassing riches of his grace (2 Corinthians 9:14) is comparable to the surpassing greatness of his power (Ephesians 1:19). God is as gracious as he is powerful.
  3. Grace is not just for your salvation (past). It is also for today and all your tomorrows (1 Corinthians 2:9).
  4. King James Version (KJV)
